Aspirations for October.

Remember that time that I totally forgot that I had a blog since I came home from a mission and didn't post in like forever ever?! Let's not repeat that again mmkay? Fall is my current obsession right now despite the fact that it means it's getting colder (and in Utah cold=snow) but how can one not rejoice in all things leaves, sweaters, pumpkin, and baking?! #amiright? There are about 500 things that I want to do and celebrate this month but I'll stick to these top 10 and explore more options once I've crossed these off the list:

1. decorate my apartment for fall
2. bake some fall treats (aka pumpkin everything)
3. take cute fall pictures with the leaves
4. carve pumpkins
5. watch general conference (semi annual inspiration from the LDS church leaders. For more info or to watch, check out www.lds.org)
6. have a fall treats party with classic halloween movies (Hocus Pocus anyone?)
7. have a bonfire in the canyon
8. girls night in with all the crafty goodness that interest has to offer
9. reading some good books and magazines
10. picking the perfect halloween costume and getting down with my friends

You're not even here yet and I want to shout my love from the rooftops for October! Let's get fall in full swing and capture the sweet moments! Pictures to come via the instagram @lalynnauten

MIA Much?

Despite the fact that it's summer and I should basically be posting all the awesomeness I've been up to lately, this week has been so incredibly boring and will continue to be until Monday...hopefully. All that's occurred lately:
-getting my car fixed
-getting my tires rotated and the air pressure checked
-working on a talk for this Sunday in church
-sleeping in
-getting so much mail
-walking around because it's the cool thing to do
-wanting it to be Sunday afternoon already so I have no obligations
-exchanging purchases at the mall

Next week will bring loads more excitement due to my brief vacation in the lovely Southern California minus the fact that there will be 13 people in one very tiny house...Until Monday people!

Sunday Reflections.

Today was great for about 500 different reasons but I'll just list a few:
-I finally have my fav gummy bears again
-afternoon naps
-church was rockstar (JC leading music with a baton and holster for said baton attached to belt #priceless)
-smoothie breakfast
-leftover pizza for dinner is the best
-actually talking to people I don't know at ward prayer
-finding out cute boy did stay for summer and looked dang good working his red pants...feel free to #holla@yagirl ANYTIME!

Life Lately.

Weekends are fantastic yet they fly by so fast! I have been so out of it lately so I've decided I need to come up with things to do to keep me busy. Working out is something I've started to do and it has made such a difference in my day and is worth all the soreness. I need to invest in a yoga mat and some decent running shoes. I've also been eating less crap food and more healthy stuff. Fruit smoothies are my jam as of late. They almost make me consider giving up frozen yogurt...dang #dolewhippineapple. Also, I forgot how great He's Just Not That Into You is...story of my #datingfails. Gigi's story is pretty much my life. The sister's in the movie outtakes murder me! Feliz cumpleanos to my Jingle Bells! She's the bestest mother a girl like me could have and such a great example of what a wifey and mother should be. I hope she comes to visit me soon so we can celebrate in person!

Dear May.

I love the change that a new month brings. May means summer is here in Utah and everyone and their mom is at Yogurtland 24/7...sick to the nast nast nast! What am I supposed to eat all summer long people? I've decided to adopt a workout routine and it is kicking my buns for real yo. I need to work on my fitness though if anyone expects me to go to 7 Peaks at all. I made a ridiculous amount of salsa for Cinco de Mayo and wish that it was here already! I love celebrating anything that involves eating my weight in Mexican food and drinking gallons of the ever delicious horchata...hi, get in my belly kthanks. Sunday, I'll def be rocking a maxi dress to hide any food babies. At least with all my working out, I can afford to eat the way I plan to come Saturday. May brings the national Jingle Bells month (mother's day + Jings' birthday), Dos' birthday and otter pop/shave ice season. Good thing I bought new clothes to wear since it looks like I plan on eating all summer according to this post #foodbabyforlife...yikes? Bring on the sweet summertime.

Low Key.

Halloween this year was probably one of the greatest that I've had since moving away from home. It started Thursday when Sister Glozell came into town and I got to meet her and Flavor Flav and Antoine Dodson. Such a fun afternoon! Friday, I made the most delectable caesar salad dressing and wanted to die partied it up all weekend long. Sunday we had the most amazing ward conference this past Sunday even though I was sick and just wanted to stay in bed all day and I finally made pumpkin bagels. Monday/actual Halloween, I got really sick and stayed in bed until I hung out with mis padres when they came into town for an hour. Even though I had about 5 party invitations, I wanted nothing more than to sit at home and carve my pumpkins while having a movie marathon...lame? Kind of but it rocked. Relaxing on the couch all night is great! I don't think November could have started any better than attending a devotional with my roommate that our dear President Monson spoke at. It's going to be a great month (despite the snow on the way to devo...talk about freezing!) I can feel it!

Can we talk about how cute the spooky face one is? I wanted to die over the crooked smile.
Pumpkins + lights + The Goonies + pjs + blankets + treats = best halloween setup ever!
Toasted seeds and candy pumpkins and the halloween cups.

Hello Sir.

If you want to quit being a Smoky Smokerson and need a wifey, I am totally available for you. B. Davies can be put on hold until I see him next even though we're supposed to be creating a child sometime soon to add to my collection with Mabel Sexsmith...the conversations that I have with Senor Platanos. Homeboy be cray. I would totally marry him too but our children would be far too much for the world to handle. Also homemade anything beats buying it at the market. I have finally triumphed in making homemade rolls so I'm basically marriage ready now. I have a food baby from homemade enchiladas and the always delicious yogurtland and more homemade-ness is happening for dessert. Thank you pinterest for destroying my waistline.

Rainy Nights.

Even though I don't love the cold, I love that nights are chilly enough to throw on a sweater and make a cup of hot cocoa and have it in bed with the window open...heavenly! I wish I had a beignet or ten to eat to but I don't plan on becoming house size anytime soon.

Hurry up October.

I just want a reasonable excuse to go buy 5 million pumpkins to use as decoration for...myself. Also if the "I'm Ron Burgundy?" quote can get out of my head, that would be fab. Relief Society broadcast was rockstar. Forget me nots and visiting teaching are my current loves. Good games of the weekend went to Sirs Brownie and Dick and to the gorgeous In n Out boy's car. Also EJY can answer Shell's calls so I can stop creeping DR on the facebook and just creep him in real life. Please and thanks. High 5 to myself for making my apt smell like brownies.

Falling for you.

Fall is finally here and I'm so dang excited! I need to acquire some more sweaters and start bundling up at nights when I go out or just lounging at my casa. I love baking and I have a pumpkin bagel recipe with my name on it! I love the fall leaves and I want to drive up the canyon in about a week to snap a million pictures of its splendor. Hopefully fall will have me a little more dedicated to this here blog as well.

Fall Wardrobe Staples.

Hello stripes and plaids. Please cool down soon so I can finally wear you all day errday...kthanksbye. My life be like the bomb. Teacherlyness is the bestest. So we finally got our hot water turned on today and I don't think I've been more grateful for anything in my life. #coldshowersareforcrazies. Can we also mention that one box of my jewelry got lost/accidently donated to DI during the move and I want to cry a little. Goodbye juicy couture earrings that I've worn for half of my life and also most of the rest of my hoop earrings...gross. If you see me and I look totally under accessorized, you now know why and can't judge mkay? Can't it just be Friday already and time for the ward tailgate party? My bishop owns the Harley Davidson dealership around here and he's bringing the Marley's trailer and I thought I was going to cry when that was announced during church on Sunday. #Idieovertheirsliders. I'm so excited to have a steamy hot shower tonight with super hot water. Seriously so grateful for hot water!

Dos Mas.

I have been the worst at writing this summer. I barely have a life outside of EFY but the countdown is on. 2 more weeks until I can have a life again. Well I guess after a magical trip to the happiest place on earth.

Crazy Good Times.

I'm still alive. Just having the craziest greatest time at EFY doing my BC thang. If I don't reply to your calls or texts, I still love you but I have next to no time to respond.

Sometimes I Have a Life.

Remember how I haven't posted in half my life? Awesome. Let's change that and since I feel awful, I'll update you on the latest in my cray cray life:
-spending some time with the fam
-hanging out with the foreigns and soaking up our friendship that will be changed drastically when we all relocate in less than 3 weeks!
-deciding I hate 75 percent of the clothing and shoes in my closet and donating/selling them.
-buying a whole new wardrobe
-looking up furniture and home decor for my post college life in my styling bachelorette pad
-making homemade girl scout cookies and a million other creations + trying not to gain 500 pounds in the process
-having a laugh attack in Walmart and having this man look at me like a was a complete freak...slightly true
-eating a huge bag of sour licorice belts and wondering where the heck they went 5 minutes later
-buying 3 new Disney movies and wonder why any other film company even bothers trying to compete with the wonder that is Disney + Disney Pixar
-making a list of all my BYU crushes and lovers and laughing at the boys on it
-wondering why every jeep I see nowadays is yellow...weird
-also why is everyone else's BMW silver too? I thought silver was MY color!
-laughing at the ridiculous that is Justin Bieber EVERYWHERE!
-still being totally obsessed with the Bieber and when my friend was making fun of Justice Bureau, I got all defensive thinking he said Justin Bieber
-laughing at the fact that I had over 15 J. Bieb books + mags at the market
-Having a Bieber face contest from the pics in the magazines
-running into the awkward boy that winked at me when I was shopping a year ago and having him wink again...#awkwardmuch2.0
-going to Magelby's and getting free breadsticks because the boy didn't want to ring me up or because he's secretly into girls that are alone on friday nights and don the sweats in public look.
-working on EFY stuff
-having school kick my buns
-living on green grapes and fresh squeezed orange juice

Procrastination Station.

I really should have majored in procrastination. I would totally have my doctorate in that biz already. At least my ECE is paying off by helping me make ridiculously rad rhymes. What is the best way to procrastinate when you have a lesson to work on for tomorrow you ask? Shredding a bowl full of queso at 5 to midnight. I love me some spicy cheddar for the midnight munchies. Can we talk about the fact that I have 14+ hours of EFY training this weekend? Good thing I love EFY.

Better Cheddar.

I like me some good old fashioned mac-ing. Not the computers (I do love these), or the blue box crap. Homemade mac and crack/cheese is the best. I haven't made it in forever and I tried this new recipe...bombtastic! Some of the best ever. Basically El Pollo Loco stat...yumfest.

2 thumbs up for deliciousness.

Sometimes It's Worth It.

Remember how it decided to rain today right before I had to go to mutual?
Awesome, I hate rain.
Remember how after mutual it decided to snow and my car was covered?
Double awesome right? Too bad I hate snow even more.
Remember how I forgot to scrape my window and at the drive-thru, snow came pouring into my car and all over me?
Triple offense I say!
I guess it was worth it though for these little babies...t-t-t-t-t- tasty, tasty!

Purple Turtle.

I love that my nails look like their naked but they're actually light sparkly purple. I feel J. Biebs would totally approve of my nails. Also I bought out Victoria's Secret yet again and talked to some ridiculously attractive men at Hollister. I really really really want Magelby's cake and breadstick. I totally need to see Tangled and it's going to be in the dollar theater. Weekend date with myself? Yes please.

Me Gusto Voleibol.

So last Friday night, I had one of the greatest evenings in the history of my life. Linds and I were going to the men's volleyball game and we were going to have Brian and Musu come too. I told Musu who of course made some dumb excuse so he probably could sit home and eat Panda and play games online...so lame. I was supposed to text/call Brian but I totally forgot and then it made sense why he didn't show up. Sometimes I'm just brilliant and totally absent minded. Anywho, we started blowing up Brian's phone with our calls and texts (I'm pretty sure a "holy F" was said in my angst) and we decided that if he didn't respond to us or show up by 8 pm, we so weren't going to respond to him until the next day. Good thing he decided to respond and show up by 7:40 (he even ran to the Smith fieldhouse...bless his little soul!) And now presenting parts of the fab evening with photographic evidence:

Linds, Ang, Brian...love, love, love us. Not so much love for the man who decided to photobomb the pic.
Linds and I waiting for Brian to respond to us and making all the people behind us jeals that they weren't taking 5 billion pics too.
Linds wanted a kissing face picture so naturally this happened. Pure joy captured on film.
Brian said that he would only do a kissy face if he caught me doing it out of the peripheral of his vision. Good thing he caught that.
Linds and Brian.

The rest of the evening entailed fighting over who wasn't going to drive (Linds flat out said NO and Brian claimed that he has lost the gift since the mish...seriously, I died) attempts to call Musu (who still didn't answer his phone) attempts to eat at Jason's deli, eating at the always delicious 5 guys, talking about dating with Brian, singing in the car, and Linds forcing Brian and I to hold hands (I think he still may be traumatized by this...whoops). All in all, such a great night with the greatest friends! Repeat soon? Sign me up baby!

Snacks For Dinner.

Sometimes real food isn't as fun too eat as crap food. Sometimes I shouldn't look on foodgawker and find divine recipes from pretzel bites and nutella brownie bites. (Sometimes I eat chocolate now) Sometimes I bake up both things because I can't pick one over the other. Sometimes my stomach overeats this heavenly spread and feels like it's going to explode. Sometimes it is SO worth it...yumfest in my belly.
Pretzel bites are 500 times better at home than at the mall. Who knew that was possible? In case you were concerned, a very light salad accompanied the feast of a snackfest as well.
